A GIANT mosaic made up of thousands of photos of life in Poole has been unveiled by the Mayor to celebrate 125 years of Poole Park.  Salterns Marina was delighted to be one of the sponsors.

RYA DIESEL ENGINE COURSE SUCCESS

Great feedback from our one day RYA Diesel Engine Course, held on 5th March and hosted by Steve Jones, instructor from Salterns Sea School, in how to prevent and solve diesel engine failure.

Berth Holder Sue Sieger said “It was excellent, he made it so interesting and his knowledge of all types of engines, suited all types of boat owners that were on the course, from launches, yachts & larger motor cruisers, he knew the good & bad points whether they were water cooled, air cooled, it didn’t matter he knew it all.

What I found particularly good was being able to see all the different engine & exhaust parts, that could cause problems, he made us take out & fit impellers, fit drive belts, bleed the fuel, in fact all the things that can cause a break down at sea.”

Salterns Marina Welcomes New Neighbour – Rick Stein Sandbanks

Salterns Marina welcomes new neighbour – Rick Stein Sandbanks – as seen in Jan/Feb issue of Powerboat & Rib Magazine.

We’ve  been brimming with excitement when it was first revealed that Rick Stein was planning to open a waterfront restaurant in Sandbanks.  Jane Haas, Marketing Co-ordinator for Salterns Marina Ltd,  was one of the lucky few who had the privilege of being invited to one of the soft launches prior to the official opening and was delighted with the experience. Jane said “I know our marina customers, who appreciate good food will be thrilled and excited as I am.  This is coastal chic at its best!”

With views across the water you can enjoy a casual lunch with classic dishes such as crab salads and moules marinière, alongside seafood dishes including Dover sole meunière, turbot hollandaise and fruits de mer.
